I am a true Bluetooth earbuds and portable speaker person. If you looked at my Amazon purchase history, you’d see that since 2016 I’ve bought over 20 pairs of wireless Bluetooth earbuds across different brands and price ranges.

As a delivery driver working on the road every day, I almost always have an audiobook, podcast, music playlist, or phone call streaming through one earbud. When I’m working in the yard or out in the garage, it’s the same story — either I’ve got earbuds in or my Bluetooth garage speaker is blasting 80’s and 90’s nostalgia.

My wife regularly thinks I’m ignoring her when she walks outside to tell me something. I’m not — I just have an audiobook rolling. I’m also rarely sitting still at home, so I almost always carry a pair of earbuds in my pocket. (You never know when a quick stop at Target or HomeGoods turns into a 30-minute wait.)

What does all that mean?

It means while I don’t have a degree in sound engineering, I probably have well over 20,000 hours of real-world experience using Bluetooth earbuds and wireless speakers.

The Problem: Good Earbuds at a Reasonable Price Are Hard to Find

After trying more than 20 pairs of earbuds, one thing has become obvious:

Finding good quality earbuds under $100 is harder than it should be.

Here’s what usually goes wrong:

  • Music sounds decent, but the microphone quality on phone calls is terrible

  • Noise cancellation software cancels out your voice instead of the background noise

  • Call quality is clear, but music sounds hollow or tinny

  • Bass overpowers everything else

  • Or they’re great… until they break

I’ve tried EarFun, Raycon, Skullcandy, JLab, and several others.

Now, I know the audiophiles are already typing about how amazing their $300 Bose, Sony, Sennheiser, or Technics earbuds are. I’m sure they are fantastic. I would love to own a pair of $300 earbuds.

But here’s the reality:
I don’t want to wear $300 earbuds while working deliveries, sweating in the yard, or puttering around in the garage.

What I want is simple:

  • Clean, balanced sound for music and audiobooks

  • Clear phone call quality that doesn’t frustrate people on the other end

  • Reliable Bluetooth connectivity

  • A price that doesn’t hurt if something happens to them

After ten years and more than twenty sets of earbuds, I may have finally found my Goldilocks brand.

Enter Soundcore — the best sounding audio devices I had never heard of.

Discovering Soundcore (Anker’s Audio Brand)

I first came across Soundcore while searching for the best Bluetooth speaker for a garage.

I’m a research nerd. I don’t mind spending hours digging through forums and review sites. For my garage speaker, I wasn’t looking for “cheap.” I wanted:

  • Great sound quality

  • Rechargeable battery (or plug-in option)

  • AUX input for my old-school iPod

  • Strong Bluetooth connection

Soundcore kept popping up in discussions alongside Bose, JBL, UE, and Sonos — brands everyone recognizes.

That caught my attention.

You may not know the Soundcore name, but you probably know its parent company: Anker. Anker is widely known for high-quality power banks, charging cables, and electronics accessories. Soundcore is essentially Anker’s dedicated audio brand.

Soundcore Motion X600: A Powerful Bluetooth Speaker for the Garage

I decided to take a chance and purchased the Soundcore Motion X600 Bluetooth speaker.

I was blown away.

I had compared it to Bose, JBL, UE, and Sonos models. For my needs, I actually liked the Soundcore better.

Here’s why:

  • Clean mids and highs — not sharp or tinny

  • Smooth, balanced bass — not rattling or distorted

  • Excellent volume without losing clarity

  • Adjustable EQ settings through the Soundcore app

  • Competitive price compared to similar premium speakers

The Soundcore app is a major bonus. You can fine-tune the sound depending on whether you’re in a garage, office, patio, or backyard.

For the price, it was easily one of the best Bluetooth speakers under premium-brand pricing.

That purchase started my appreciation for Soundcore products.

Soundcore Sport X20: The Best Bluetooth Earbuds Under $100?

Next, I bought the Soundcore Sport X20 earbuds.

Another win.

For typically around $75, these earbuds deliver:

  • Clear, balanced sound for music and audiobooks

  • Strong bass without overpowering vocals

  • Excellent call quality — people say my voice sounds clear and natural

  • Comfortable, secure fit for work and yard use

For under $100, they easily compete with more expensive options.

Open-Ear Soundcore Earbuds (Perfect for Walking)

My wife mentioned she wanted earbuds for walks but didn’t want in-ear buds. She wanted to hear her surroundings.

Sure enough, Soundcore makes open-ear Bluetooth earbuds designed for that exact purpose.

She loves them.

For the sake of this review, I tested them myself and was honestly surprised. For earbuds that sit outside the ear, the sound quality is impressive. They’re perfect for walking, jogging, or staying aware of your environment.

Final Thoughts: Soundcore Delivers Premium Sound Without the Premium Price

So here’s the takeaway:

Soundcore — a brand many people haven’t heard of — makes high-quality Bluetooth earbuds and wireless speakers at affordable prices.

  • Great sound quality

  • Strong microphone performance

  • Reliable connectivity

  • Smart app integration

  • Excellent value

That name may not stay under the radar much longer. I was in Costco recently and noticed they’re already carrying a Soundcore Bluetooth speaker.

If you’re looking for:

  • The best budget Bluetooth earbuds

  • Affordable wireless earbuds with good call quality

  • A powerful Bluetooth speaker for your garage

  • High-quality audio gear under $100

Soundcore is absolutely worth considering.

Happy listening.
